Our vision revolves around these three critical and interrelated domains: cognitive, metacognitive, and social/emotional.
We stimulate students’ cognitive-intellectual growth so they are ready for college and/or a career. We immerse learners in rich, integrated, and rigorous Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) experiences. We stress instruction that is hands-on, minds-on, and collaborative. We present students with learning challenges which are relevant to the real world and are nonetheless developmentally appropriate.
We boost students’ metacognitive growth by delivering iterative, learner-centered, challenge-based learning. We mentor students about metacognitive strategies, provide ample opportunities for student self-reflection, give responsive feedback, and encourage students to develop plans to reach their goals.
We nurture students social and emotional learning (SEL) by emphasizing a growth mindset, leadership skills, and civility.
