About us
Our vision revolves around these three critical and interrelated domains: cognitive, metacognitive, and social/emotional.
Cognitive
We stimulate students’ cognitive-intellectual growth so they are ready for college and/or a career. We immerse learners in rich, integrated, and rigorous Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) experiences. We stress instruction that is hands-on, minds-on, and collaborative. We present students with learning challenges which are relevant to the real world and are nonetheless developmentally appropriate.
Metacognitive
We boost students’ metacognitive growth by delivering iterative, learner-centered, challenge-based learning. We mentor students about metacognitive strategies, provide ample opportunities for student self-reflection, give responsive feedback, and encourage students to develop plans to reach their goals.
Social / Emotional
We nurture students social and emotional learning (SEL) by emphasizing a growth mindset, leadership skills, and civility.
We believe that education should nurture the whole child. Our most important task is to help students learn how to learn. This encompasses providing inspiration, fostering curiosity, and encouraging students to take ownership of their learning.
